Am I Really Out?
Hit or not? How to tell, and what to do.

At most fields the rules are pretty simple. You get hit, see paint, and call your self out. Though the most common mistake for new players is the opposite of this. They get hit by a paintball and call themselves out without checking to see if they really have paint on them. So the best way to prevent needlessly sitting on the side lines for the next game? Check your self! Sometimes a paintball hits you and it really does not have enough force to break open and it just bounces off. If your not sure, ask a teammate, or even better a referee to check to see if you have paint on you.
You may also wonder how some experienced players cannot even tell if they got hit by a paintball or not. The reason mainly behind this is that they are used to playing paintball and do not notice the hits as much, added with their adrenaline; they tend to not notice it.
