The Do's and Don'ts of Paintball
Field etiquette in two lists.
Do
- Communicate with other players on your team
- Keep your gun cleaned and oiled
- Squeegee if you break a ball
- Play tight and closer to your bunker
- Look around so not to get tunnel vision
- Use quality paintballs
- Switch from shooting different players instead of just one
- Practice shooting offhanded shots (right hands shoot with left hand)
- Talk to people on the other team after the game
- Ask for paint checks
- Walk the field
- Ask for help when you need it
- Listen to your teammates and give them cover when they need it
- Ask your teammates for the position of your opponents
- Plan the game out with your team, such as where you are going off the break
- Go out the opposite side of a bunker that is being shot at
- Move up! And keep Moving!
- Be unpredictable, keep them on their toes
Don’t
- Pick up paint off the ground
- Go over the top of a bunker unless absolutely necessary
- Fixate on one player
- Stay back and not shoot
- Talk smack off the field
- Bonus ball
- Wipe hits
- Be afraid of getting hit
- Insult the refs
- Blind fire
- Steal paintballs
- Be afraid to ask for help
- Come out into a stream of paintballs
- Accuse other players of cheating unless you saw it directly. (Tell a referee first)
- Let the other team be able to anticipate what you’re doing
