Safety In Paintball
The rules that keep paintball safe.
When handling anything dangerous whether it be a knife or a gun safety is a key-part in it. People lose vision, get caved in jaws, and sometimes die because of incorrectly handling a paintball gun and it’s equipment. If you don’t want to be one of those people, read this short yet informative article about paintball safety. I’ll walk you through a day in paintball safety.
You are riding to your park. All of your gear is in the back of the car and you’re doing fine. Finally, you arrive at the field. Once you get to there, you find a nice spot to keep you’re gear. You put your barrel condom (so if you accidentally shoot, the balls will be stopped) in and put your tank and hopper on. Then you load your paint. Off to the field you go.
You walk off in your long pants (just common-sense, smart thing to do.) Once you get to anywhere near the playing fields, your mask goes on. Usually there will be a place where refs will tell you “masks” on. Once you get done with that, you walk to the chronograph. You take your barrel plug off, and shoot. A gun that’s shooting hot can be very dangerous and break your skin if you get hit. Now after getting your correct fps down, put your barrel plug back in and walk to the field.
Finally, it’s time to play paintball! You take your barrel plug off and go to your team’s side. When the referee begins the game, you start shooting. After playing a little you get shot in the mask, good thing you were wearing that mask, huh? Although most pads aren’t really needed unless you have knee problems or something that makes you wear them a neck protector is highly recommended. Well you put your barrel plug back on and keep your mask on! No matter what don’t take it off until a referee tells you can! You can never stress this enough because if a shot goes stray from the field, you might lose your sight.
Now after following these rules you get through the day OK. The game is finally over and you come back to your gear. You have no paint left but some Co2 still in your tank. Be careful when you screw off your tank, if you do it incorrectly and take off the brass piece, it can fly off at a very fast speed. Fast enough to have already killed to people in the United States. Once that is done, you are ready to go back home.
Paintball can be extremely fun if you follow the safety rules. So when you want to go, remember these rules. A day of paintball can become hellish or awesome, depending on how safe you are when playing.
