Halo B Review

The force-fed hopper everyone wanted in 2004.

After the constant shells breaking on my viewloader revolution I decided to get a different hopper. The things I was looking for in it were speed and durability. I decided on a halo B with z code.

First impressions: When I first got it, it seemed pretty much ideal. It has a spring winding system on the impeller so that it always keeps pressure on the ball stack and feeds instantly. This works with the motor so that it feeds incredibly fast for the first 10 or so balls. After that the motor handles the rest until the rate of fire slows down enough for it to wind the spring. The halo also comes with an oversized feed neck, its meant to be sanded down for the perfect fit. When I put it on it felt incredibly sturdy. Also the shells are made of lexan, the stuff that bulletproof glass is made of. I can say for sure that this is the most durable hopper I have ever used. Also the battery door uses a screw to keep the AAs in (I love how it uses common batteries), and the lid is very sturdy but not overly tight and springy like the evo II.

Using it in the game: After I stuck it on my marker and put batteries on it I took it out to the field for testing. All I can say is wow, this is the hopper of my dreams. I was able to lay massive laser beams of paint across the field with out breaking a single ball. It just dumped paint into my chamber without pushing it past the detent. I got no jams or double feeds. I got shot in the hopper once and the halo stood up easily. The feed neck was incredibly strong and no matter how hard I played the halo stayed on and did its job. The lid was perfect, its easy to open but won’t pop open when you’re running and sliding. I thought it would be heavy but when I put paint in it, it weighed the same as a full evo II so its not too heavy.

Reflection: The halo is an awesome hopper that does everything you’d expect and more. I would recommend it to anyone and its definitely worth the money I spent on it.
